Listen..., I'm well aware that President Donald Trump is a fascist and when I say that, I don't mean he's "like a fascist." The guy is a fascist. With that being said, the Democrats are running a guy who may very well be guilty of Improper Sexual Contact, someone's who basically a creep, and who in addition to that, does not bode well for progressive interests. He's untrustworthy, stands in direct contrast to the tenets of Our Revolution, as embodied by the Bernie Sanders campaign of 2016, and is unlikely to keep any promises made to our movement, if elected in 2020.
Many will be quick to rely on the blame game. "It's people like you," they'll start out with, then finish with "that will help Trump get re-elected." If that's the case, if us voting our conscience makes it easier for Trump to win, then oh well. The truth is, the Democratic Party has had one, now two, different opportunities to do right by the progressive movement. They have insisted upon denying Bernie, AOC, Nina Turner and other progressive voices from reaching their cadres. The Democrats have systematically suppressed the progressive movement since 2016. Even when Bernie endorsed that criminal, Hillary Clinton, they never let up. Our people have always been relegated to support staffs and inferior administrative posts. They don't want us any more in 2020, than in 2016.
They want our votes, but not our voices.
Do you really want to continue to reward a Party that does not want us? When will we ever build the working class party we've all yearned for? When does Our Revolution actually start? Our revolution cannot just exist during the primaries of a capitalist party who could care less for the interests of working people, students, immigrants and seniors. This is a sham! Isn't it about time, we pull the plug on this facade, on this sham of a democracy? I voted Green in 2016 for Jill Stein and haven't had a single regret since. If Trump wins or if Biden does, the outcome won't be much different. Don't you realize that both parties belong to the political and financial elites? There won't be any significant change with either one of them - that's the whole point.
"When we vote independent on the left, they hear us." - Howie Hawkins
That's so true! When we vote 3rd party, we are not only using our voice, but we are showing the world how serious we are about our political convictions. It takes real discipline to commit to vote for a party that will not win - at least not anytime soon. As more and more of us break with the Lesser of Two Evil mentality, then and only then, will the political playing field in America change. Perhaps one day, America will evolve, and we'll live a in country where multiple parties exist and where governments must create coalitions. The idea of a 2 Party system is an anti Democratic as it gets. The only way to change it, is to vote your conscience.
